Tate Olitt
Costume Designer
Tate Olitt (she/her) is a senior at Tufts University studying Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies with a focus in costume design.
She grew up in New Jersey and learned to sew when she was very young. She first entered the world of costume design in Middle School. Since then, it has been a passion of hers that she is proud to be pursuing.
At Tufts University, her classes have included costume design both for theater and for film and television, costume technology, tailoring, the construction of corsets and crinolines, the history of fashion, wig design and construction, stage makeup design and application, scenic fabrication, directing, acting, scene painting, and additional foundational theater classes.
My mission is to empower and excite both audience and collaborators. I strive to create innovative and unique costume designs to aid in meaningful telling of stories that deserve a voice.
